I love this bird but photographing it is difficult because it balks at every tiny movement or noise. I had to sneak up to my camera, sit there until it eventually came back, and make sure the motor drive on my camera didn’t scare it away. Love the herringbone pattern to its feathers.

It took me a week to get this shot of a yellow-bellied sapsucker. Surprise, surprise. They are skittish!
