We have a birdhouse tucked under the awning of our back yard, out of the sun and wind, and bluebirds nest in it every year. I took this picture on the second day of nest-building, in a quiet moment when our mama-to-be was taking a break in the shade. The awning strut was a favorite perch for her and her mate.
