Description

An occasional Summer visitor to Northeastern Illinois, it was a surprise to find a pair of Lark Sparrow nesting in the stone/dirt plots of a new housing development. The chicks were in a small nest, just behind a small weed for cover amongst the stoney ground. Here the parent is bringing a nice juicy grasshopper for the chicks.
