I participated in the evening Parrot Chase at the Rio Grande Birding Festival. This is a madcap, real life version of the keystone cops with vans crammed with birders careering through Harlingen at sunset looking for the parrot flock. Hundreds of parrots and dozens of humans descend on a neighborhood. The resident dogs and cats seemed inured to the spectacle.
