Description

We have several nesting pairs of Cardinals in and around our yard and they use the bushes and trees for their nests. In this case, they used our small Chinese Maple tree. I can lay on the ground and look up into the tree umbrella to check the nest without bothering the adults. The day I chose, had this young bird off the nest that wasn’t the least bit startled; and it provided me with several different poses.

Soon To Fledge Cardinal.

Look Mom, no nest!

Hi Bill, This Northern Cardinal has already fledged – once the juvenile bird leaves the nest, it is considered a “fledgling.” Looks like you got great views!
