Description

We typically provide our birds sunflower seed and cracked corn. Being in the desert, we see a slightly different population of birds than most folks are used to seeing, such as Gambel’s quail and White-crowned sparrows by the dozen. But my favorite feeder birds are the Curve-billed thrashers who come by to gobble down the corn. We have a mated pair that comes by almost every morning and evening to get their fill before all the little birds eat it all. The one in the picture is hanging out in the Cholla cactus where it builds a nest every year.
