Description

Those who live year-round in Southern California will know that when it rains here, it’s very brief. The glimpses of sunlight between the clouds can be very frequent, but they are still something to look at. I assume that’s what this young male house finch was doing on this wintry day—gazing at the sun’s rays shining through the cracks in the clouds. Or, he could have just been looking for predators. Either way, I thought it was a great photo opportunity.
