I have always loved birds and bird-watching, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, the joy I’ve felt while out in nature has been especially vivid. It stands in starker contrast than ever with the stress of everyday life. One day, while I was out walking in a local park, I spotted this elegant female Northern Cardinal sitting in a nearby tree. My breath caught, and my spirits soared!
