Entebbe, Uganda
My wife and I travelled to Uganda in the summer of 2018, primarily to see the incredible mountain gorillas in the wild. It turns out the birding was pretty incredible as well! We took a boat trip to the Mabamba Swamp outside of Entebbe to see the shoebill stork, a grey behemoth of a bird that certainly does NOT fit this week’s category. While there, we spotted this beautiful little bee eater. It was tricky to capture this one in a rocking canoe but it turned out alright.
