Description

Feeder birds started to act very agitated, especially the Chickadees, lots of frantic alarm calls being given by a variety of species. The behavior of the chickadees was more frantic than when a Cooper’s or Sharp-shinned or Merlin come by. I located owl by seeing where the attention of other birds was directed. I watched it for over an hour. It took one half-hearted attempt at Siskin flock. Siskins and other birds would occasionally attempt mobbing to scare off, but it seemed to mind and eventually flew off at its leisure. This is only my second experience with this specie, and first visual. It made my day.
