I am curious as to what this bird is. It showed up on my thistle feeder several days after Gold Finch had disappeared. Is it an immature gold finch or what? Thanks
Martha: Your bird appears to be a leucistic American Goldfinch that is actively molting from summer into winter plumage. You can learn more about leucism on the FeederWatch web site in the “Learn” section.
