Description

Adopted to the flock or recessive gene? She is always with multiple Eurasian collared doves. They feed on a bench or on the ground my back yard, premium wild bird mix. She perched in a tree outside my kitchen window last week so I was able to capture a closeup photo.

What Kind Of Dove Is This?

This white dove comes by to feed weekly, always with Eurasian collared doves, Oct to Feb so far. She is about the same size as her friends, and they treat her as one of their own. What kind of dove is this?

She is beautiful. Looked through my birding books, no luck; She might be leucistic & because of her smaller size, she might be an African-collared Dove
Will post photo of a Leucistic Mourning Dove. Leucistic or not – your call.

BowbeforeBrayden says:

probably a leucistic morning or collared dove. My guess is a morning dove.

Aleene J. Jones says:

Looking at her feet, she does not have the orange feet of the Mourning Doves, did you take notice of the collar type stripe on the back of her neck. I humbly BowbeforeBraden.
