Our backyard feeder is typically visited by a pair of Northern Cardinals in the pre-evening hours, after the Blue Jays have finished their feeding. The male Cardinal usually dominates the feeder while the female watches on from a nearby perch. Then finally, she gets the feeder all for herself.
