I first thought that the House Finch had eye disease, but on inspection of the photos, he appears to have Avian pox. Possible predation?

At first, I thought this House Finch had Mycoplasma eye disease, but on close inspection, the eyes and conjunctiva look normal. I believe this bird has Avian pox and may have been the subject of predation.
