This bedraggled Red-bellied Woodpecker appeared in the back yard two days before the Artic Vortex swept through town on Jan 7th and 8th, 2014. He seemed to be either very young, which seems odd for this time of year, ill or injured. I have watched for him to return after the sub-zero temperatures left yesterday, but so far I have not seen him. Hope he made it!
