At the time (Sept 2015) I did not connect the looks and behavior with conjunctivitis, but the finch was clearly disoriented and not alarmed that I was standing nearby. It hopped over to me and onto my foot. It is the only such bird I’ve seen and we have a lot of gold and house finches at our feeders. One image I got had some red on the breast so feel this was a house finch.
Eye problems
This was a disoriented finch which I now appreciate probably had the conjunctivitis. It hopped over to me and onto my foot.
