Description

While watching for the annual bird count on my designated day, my bubbling fountain was attracting lots of birds. All of a sudden a whole flock of Mountain Blubirds landed for a drink. I was awestruck because in 25 years living and hiking in Nevada I had only seen one by the school I taught at. There are 14 bluebirds at the fountain and 5 waiting for a drink in a nearby birch tree. I grabbed my camera and got some quick shots they were gone in 15 minutes. I would have missed them any other time. What a thrill!
