Description
I was visiting Atlantic Beach, NC looking for Painted Buntings at the Ft. Macon feeder station when I noticed these two cardinals on the ground. The male was gathering seed from the feeder and bringing it to the female to share. I’m not sure if this is courtship feeding or if the male is feeding a chick, but I thought it was really cute. I never did see a Painted Bunting.
