Description
Every winter the goldfinches show up around Christmas and quickly take over the feeders. Not only are they aggressive towards other species, but they also bicker and posture among themselves to have an advantage at the feeders. Sometimes there are five or six at the feeders, with a dozen more waiting in the wings to swoop down and take a spot by driving away whoever they decide has had enough to eat. It’s great entertainment.
