Description
We feed sunflower seeds year-round and it was a favorite seed for this Red-winged Blackbird to crack open for its young. It was quite a sight to see the young one shake its whole body, open its mouth and squawk until it got fed each time. This pair would come to the feeder 2 or 3 times each day and stay 3 to 6 minutes. It was about the fourth day coming to the feeder when the young one finally decided to pick up a seed and crack one for itself.
