Description
American Robins are extremely common in this area, hardly noticed most of the time in spite of their rather striking orange breasts and yellow beaks. But in the fall they are found in large numbers on berry-producing trees, as they gorge on the fruits. On a beautiful New England fall day, I saw this young robin perched on a branch: the combined colors of autumn leaves, red berries, green moss on the branches and intensely blue sky provided a phantasmagoric background to the sunlit bird.
