Description
Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge is one of my favorite places to go for birding and bird photography. I made several trips to MNWR with the intention to capture images of the bald eagles. On a recent trip, I was photographing this eagle when I saw the moon rise above tree lines. I ran with my camera to position myself so that the moon was placed perfectly behind the bald eagle. It is so heartwarming to know that these majestic birds have made a successful comeback and there are several pairs that now reside in the greater Montezuma area. They soar in the sky once again in greater numbers, “rising above” all the environmental challenges, giving to us the opportunity to enjoy their beauty today as well as to the future generations.
