Description
My husband and I went to Bombay Hook NWR in January 2018 really hoping to see the Short-eared Owl. Approaching an intersection along the refuge drive we noticed some birdwatchers photographing something way up in a tree. Focused on that I didn’t spot this gorgeous owl sitting on a roadside sign until about 15 feet away. It sat there, head swiveling between us and the other birders, for some beautiful pictures. Imagine our surprise!
