Description
In the late summer, I saw I female Red-winged Blackbird flitting about a marsh area. I noticed she was grabbing the edge of the lily pads and peering beneath them, probably to look for insects. I’d never noticed this behavior before. Normally, I find the females are quite shy, in comparison with the boisterous males.
