Description
On a visit to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge I found this female Hooded Merganser with some type of sucker fish in her bill. The other mergansers were very interested in it as she was avoiding their pursuit while battling the sucker fish.
I chose this photo hoping it would stand out being a much different species from the other submissions.
