Description
I know there are pileated woodpeckers nearby. I see at least one a month, but they have never eaten at our backyard feeders. One day around noon, I looked out our windows and saw this beauty chowing down like she was at an all-you-can-eat buffet. I grabbed my camera and started taking pictures of her, She ate for about 10 minutes before she left. That was the first and last time I have seen a pileated woodpecker eating at one of my feeders. I know birds can’t smile, but I love that it looks like she is grinning here. To me, she is a wonderful reminder that you never know who will visit your feeders and when!
