Description
This photo was taken on a day when an ice storm had coated everything with a thin layer of ice. This mulberry branch is near the back patio, and these two were two of many small songbirds arriving to eat some afternoon sunflower seed and crumbled suet on a below freezing day with temps expected to be 7-8 degrees during the night. The male bluebird is one of 5 or 6 remaining around the yard after nesting in, or fledging from, one of my Gilwood nest boxes this past summer.
