Stopped at a friend’s house on a blustery cold winter morning hoping to convince her to go for a ride to see if we could find some of these beauties at a local wild life reserve area. We were sitting at the table having a coffee when I was about to start my best reasoning skills to convince her when something caught my outside the window. When I investigated it turned out a flock had just landed in her crabapple tree and were devouring everything in sight. I grabbed my camera and 15 minutes and 143 shots later I went inside to hug that hot mug of coffee with my frozen fingers.. staying out in the 10 below 0 weather was worth it.
