Since December 26, the birds have had to endure extreme cold days, minus 28 Celsius in some cases, but always under minus 20. One way of coping, after a good feed of seed and suet, is sitting in a sunny sport with feathers fluffed as this Blue Jay is doing. When feathers are fluffed to this extent, the birds and this Blue Jay seem so much larger.
