Description
When watching for butterflys in August this female Ruby-throat caught my eye. She continued to scan the butterfly bushes for several minutes and did not seem to mind me creeping closer. It was so much fun clicking away while enjoying her hunt for nectar. After 127 shots this one seems to be the best. what a great day!

Love that half hovering, half landing pose!
Me too; appreciate the comment Theresa.
This female let me close all season…in fact ‘seemed’ to go out of her way to ‘light’ above me from time to time watching me as I ‘did’ my ‘yardwatch’…I can see her ‘personality and trust’ in the shot…she never flew off, I left her.
All the best!
