Description
While on a walk this past spring, I noted this Grasshopper Sparrow posturing and singing on a fire hydrant that was sitting at the edge of a field of goldenrod. As it was nesting season I am sure he was searching for a mate. As these birds forage on the ground primarily for insects, it is unusual to catch a glimpse of them so close!
