Description
Every spring I eagerly await the return of the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Migrating north, they arrive at my Central Virginia home in late April and stay for about two weeks, filling up on black-oil sunflower seeds. This homemade platform feeder is especially popular with all my yard birds, and one day I got this great shot of my non-migrating state bird, the Northern Cardinal, with its grosbeak cousin.
