Description

This bird has mixed breed features. As he hopped around we thought it was a junco, as from most angles he seemed to have a hood. However, the flair of the white back feathers doesn’t match anything. And grey supercilium suggest a song bird. From one angle the head looks as short and fluffy as a bush tit. What is this bird? We counted it as a Junco, which was the first and strongest impression we had.

That’s a Dark-eyed Junco

Looks like a mix between the Oregon and Slate-colored sub species.
