Description

We see this bird a few times each year. So do all the other birds and squirrels and they go hide somewhere until the coast is clear again. He was in the area, but only spotted once, during our count days (2/22-23). I may have spent more time looking for him since there were not too many birds around much of one day.

Is this a Cooper's Hawk

Ava Johnson says:

Actually, that is most likely a Sharp-Shinned Hawk because they are in your area year-round. If it is a Cooper’s Hawk then that would be pretty rare because they are in your area for breeding.
