This oddly marked chickadee has been visiting all winter, but is unusually shy, and hard to get a good look at. The white markings cover the whole black part of his crown

Hey Alison, this is a condition called leucism. Leucism is the partial loss of pigments in an animal’s body, which results in birds having white feathers. He’s beautiful, have fun watching him!
